A risk-sensitive momentum approach to stock selection [PDF]

open access: yesEkonomski Anali, 2019
One of the main implications of Lo’s Adaptive Markets Hypothesis (2004, 2012, 2017) is that returns of virtually all assets can change over time.

Stable Moving Least-Squares

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 2009
Local polynomial fitting in a least squares sense is a common technique in scattered data approximation. However, some known error bounds indicate that the error may become rather large for certain configurations of the given data points. In this paper, the author proves that these bounds are indeed realistic and proposes a modified technique, called ...

Parameter Estimation Algorithms for Hammerstein Finite Impulse Response Moving Average Systems Using the Data Filtering Theory

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This paper considers the parameter estimation problems of Hammerstein finite impulse response moving average (FIR–MA) systems. Based on the matrix transformation and the hierarchical identification principle, the Hammerstein FIR–MA system is recast into ...

Self-Adaptive Moving Least Squares Measurement Based on Digital Image Correlation

open access: yesOptics
Digital image correlation (DIC) is a non-contact measurement technique used to evaluate surface deformation of objects. Typically, pointwise moving least squares (PMLS) fitting is applied to process the noisy data from DIC to obtain an accurate strain ...

Data-dependent moving least squares

open access: yesApplied Numerical Mathematics
In this paper, we address a data dependent modification of the moving least squares (MLS) problem. We propose a novel approach by replacing the traditional weight functions with new functions that assign smaller weights to nodes that are close to discontinuities, while still assigning smaller weights to nodes that are far from the point of ...

Enhancing SPH using moving least-squares and radial basis functions

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we consider two sources of enhancement for the meshfree Lagrangian particle method smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) by improving the accuracy of the particle approximation.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

ADAPTIVE RESPONSE SURFACE APPROACH USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS AND MOVING LEAST SQUARES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In engineering science the modeling and numerical analysis of complex systems and relations plays an important role. In order to realize such an investigation, for example a stochastic analysis, in a reasonable computational time, approximation ...
