Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Frequency response sensitivity to crack for piezoelectric FGM beam subjected to moving load

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics
Since functionally graded material (FGM) is increasingly used in high-tech engineering, free and forced vibrations of FGM structures become an important issue.

Hydrodynamic lubrication of rigid nonconformal contacts in combined rolling and normal motion [PDF]

open access: yes
A numerical solution to the problem of hydrodynamic lubrication of rigid point contacts with an isoviscous, incompressible lubricant was obtained. The hydrodynamic load-carrying capacity under unsteady (or dynamic) conditions arising from the combined ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Vibrations of Point-Supported Rectangular Thin Plate Subjected to a Moving Force

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2016
In this paper, the dynamic behaviour of a rectangular thin plate simply supported on all edges and point supported within its region is investigated. The problem is solved by replacing this type of structure with a simply supported plate subjected to a ...

Force-Control for the Automated Footwear Testing System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The Automated Footwear Testing System (AFTS) is a robotic system designed to replicated the movement and loading of a shoe as it contacts the ground during common human movements.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
