Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Vibration of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite plates under a moving load

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2015
The vibration behavior of functionally graded carbon nanotube (CNT)-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) plates under a moving load is investigated based on the first-order shear deformation theory of plates using the finite element method. An embedded single-

Identification of Modal Frequencies From the Pre-Stressed Concrete Bridge Dynamic Response to Different Sources of Dynamic Excitation

open access: yesCommunications, 2018
The natural frequencies and mode shapes are unique characteristics of each mechanical structure. Their prediction is a crucial part of each dynamic experimental measurement. However, the proper identification of higher natural frequencies and mode shapes

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Dynamic Response of a Simplified Turbine Blade Model with Under-Platform Dry Friction Dampers Considering Normal Load Variation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
Dry friction dampers are widely used to reduce vibration. The forced vibration response of a simplified turbine blade with a new kind of under-platform dry friction dampers is studied in this paper.

Development and flight evaluation of active controls in the L-1011 [PDF]

open access: yes
Active controls in the Lockheed L-1011 for increased energy efficiency are discussed. Active wing load alleviation for extended span, increased aspect ratio, and active stability augmentation with a smaller tail for reduced drag and weight are among the ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Track Dynamic Response At Low Frequencies – Dominant Frequencies

open access: yesTransactions of the VŠB: Technical University of Ostrava, Civil Engineering Series, 2015
The paper is devoted dynamic effects in the track structure - the quasi-static excitation due to moving load, as the important source for the response of track components in the low frequency area (0 Hz < f < 40 Hz).

Deceleration-Limiting Roadway Barrier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Roadway barrier system and method are disclosed for decelerating a moving vehicle in a controlled manner and for retaining the decelerated vehicle. A net or mesh of the roadway barrier system receives and captures the moving vehicle.
