No-onset looming motion guides spatial attention [PDF]
These 6 experiments explored the ability of moving random dot patterns to attract attention, as measured by a simple probe-detection task. Each trial began with random motion (i.e., dots linearly moved in random directions).

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Shadow Spatiotemporal Track-Before-Detect Approach for Distributed UAV-Borne Video SAR
Shadow detection has become a key technology for ground-based moving target indication in video synthetic aperture radar (SAR). However, single-platform video SAR faces the issue of moving-target shadows being occluded.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Maximum Eigenvalue Matrix CFAR Detection Using Pre-Processing in Sea Clutter
For the pulse Doppler radar system with short pulse sequence, maximum eigenvalue-based matrix CFAR detector (MEMD) provides an effective solution to the problem of detecting moving targets in the background of K distribution sea clutter when the target ...
