Temporal Templates for Detecting the Trajectories of Moving Vehicles
2009In this study, we deal with the problem of detecting the trajectories of moving vehicles. We introduce a method, based on the spatio-temporal connectivity analysis, to extract the vehicles trajectories from temporal templates, spanned over a short period of time. Temporal templates are conformed with the successive images differences.

Moving vehicle detection and tracking in unstructured environments
2012 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2012The detection and tracking of moving vehicles is a necessity for collision-free navigation. In natural unstructured environments, motion-based detection is challenging due to low signal to noise ratio. This paper describes our approach for a 14 km/h fast autonomous outdoor robot that is equipped with a Velodyne HDL-64E S2 for environment perception. We

Moving Vehicle Detection for Automatic Traffic Monitoring
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2007A video-based traffic monitoring system must be capable of working in various weather and illumination conditions. In this paper, we will propose an example-based algorithm for moving vehicle detection. Different from previous works, this algorithm learns from examples and does not rely on any a priori model for vehicles.

A Moving Object Detection Algorithm for Vehicle Localization
2012 Sixth International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing, 2012This paper proposed a video-based moving object detection algorithm for vehicle localization. First, construct a background image, and then extraction moving object through the difference between current image and background image. This paper also combined concept of region of interesting to eliminate noise interference in other regions.

Detecting and tracking moving humans from a moving vehicle
SPIE Proceedings, 2008In September 2007 the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Robotics Collaborative Technology Alliance (CTA) conducted an assessment of multiple pedestrian detection algorithms based upon LADAR or video sensor data. Eight detection algorithms developed by the Robotics CTA member organizations, including ARL, were assessed in an experiment conducted by the ...

A New Algorithm of an Improved Detection of Moving Vehicles
2010A new algorithm of vehicle detection on improved background difference method is presented in this article. A input image frames with fewer moving targets is choosen as the background initialization frames in the background model initialization phase. A new background or a foreground image of moving vehicles is distinguished based on the results of the

A Wavelet Packet Algorithm for Classification and Detection of Moving Vehicles
Multidimensional Systems and Signal Processing, 2001In this paper we propose a robust algorithm that solves two related problems: 1) Classification of acoustic signals emitted by different moving vehicles. The recorded signals have to be assigned to pre-existing categories independently from the recording surrounding conditions.

Moving Vehicles Detection in Airborne Video
2008 International Symposium on Information Science and Engineering, 2008A method to detect moving vehicles in airborne video is proposed in this paper. In order to deal with moving object detection in non-stationary background, the global motion of background is estimated frame by frame according to the correspondence control points extracted by Harris feature point extraction algorithm.

Moving vehicle detection and tracking in image sequences
1997This paper presents an algorithm that tracks moving vehicles in an outdoor environment. The algorithm was developed based on four heuristics derived from the properties of moving vehicles, maximum velocity, small velocity changes, coherent motion, and continuous motion.

A Detection and Tracing Algorithm of Moving Vehicles
2007 2nd International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Applications, 2007With widely use of pervasive computing, intelligent transportation system becomes more and more important in traffic management. Compared to some technologies, this paper constructed a detection and tracing algorithm of moving vehicles by using position prejudge and template matching technologies.
