Electroacupuncture Ameliorates Learning and Memory Deficits in Vascular Cognitive Impairment Rats Through Activation of the Supramammillary Nucleus–Dentate Gyrus Circuit

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Electroacupuncture at ST36 alleviates cognitive deficits and restores hippocampal synaptic plasticity in VCI rats by activating the SuMGlu‐DG circuit. This study identifies the SuMGlu‐DG circuit as an essential mediator for the therapeutic and neuroprotective effects of acupuncture in vascular‐induced cognitive decline.

Restoration of Excitation‐Inhibition Balance and Improvement of Schizophrenia‐like Behavioral Deficits via Electroacupuncture

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Ablation of nNos from Erbb4‐positive neurons induces impaired GABAergic transmission and disruption of excitatory and inhibitory balance, which further cause hyperactivity of pyramidal neurons, resulting in schizophrenia‐relevant behavioral deficits. EA treatment rescues decreased GABAergic transmission and restores excitatory and inhibitory balance by
