Exosomal mRNAs for Angiogenic–Osteogenic Coupled Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 33, November 24, 2023., 2023
This study describes an easily scalable and cost‐effective method to produce abundant therapeutic small extracellular vesicles (t‐sEVs) carrying a cocktail of functional mRNAs (VEGF‐A and BMP‐2) within a customized injectable PEGylated poly (glycerol sebacate) acrylate (PEGS‐A) hydrogel cage for coupling bone regeneration in rats that have challenging ...

Biosynthetic Plastics as Tunable Elastic and Visible Stent with Shape‐Memory to Treat Biliary Stricture

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 29, October 17, 2023., 2023
A biodegradable helical stent with shape memory and self‐expanding effect is fabricated from biosynthetic P(3HB‐co‐4HB) with tunable stiffness for the first time. The stent successfully treats biliary stricture in porcine model. Abstract Common biliary tract is ≈4 mm in diameter to deliver bile from liver to small intestine to help digestion.

Quantitative imaging of vesicle–protein interactions reveals close cooperation among proteins

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 12, Issue 5, May 2023., 2023
Abstract Membrane‐bound vesicles such as extracellular vesicles (EVs) can function as biochemical effectors on target cells. Docking of the vesicles onto recipient plasma membranes depends on their interaction with cell‐surface proteins, but a generalizable technique that can quantitatively observe these vesicle–protein interactions (VPIs) is lacking ...

A framework for realistic 3D tele-immersion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Meeting, socializing and conversing online with a group of people using teleconferencing systems is still quite differ- ent from the experience of meeting face to face. We are abruptly aware that we are online and that the people we are engaging with are

Optimization and modeling of PEGylated, hydrocortisone‐17‐butryate‐loaded poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) microspheres

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 245-254, April 2023., 2023
A poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) particle is modified with a polyethylene glycol surface and has been formulated to roughly between a 800 nm and 5 µm radius range. Release studies and computational modeling have demonstrated sustained release of corticosteroid through 3 weeks.

Sub‐bitstream packing based lightweight tiled streaming for 6 degree of freedom immersive video

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2021
The MPEG immersive video (MIV) has been designed to remove the redundancies of multi‐view videos and merge the residuals into two textures and two geometry videos; therefore, four bitstreams and video decoders are required to provide six degrees of ...

Enhancing the Neuroprotection Potential of Edaravone in Transient Global Ischemia Treatment with Glutathione‐ (GSH‐) Conjugated Poly(methacrylic acid) Nanogel as a Promising Carrier for Targeted Brain Drug Delivery

open access: yesOxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Ischemic stroke is the most common among various stroke types and the second leading cause of death, worldwide. Edaravone (EDV) is one of the cardinal antioxidants that is capable of scavenging reactive oxygen species, especially hydroxyl molecules, and has been already used for ischemic stroke treatment.
