The coming of age of MPLS

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2011
Large operators have embraced multiprotocol label switching, deploying it in their backbone networks to enable a number of services and applications such as virtual private networks to just name one. Since the inception of the respective IETF working group, MPLS has accumulated a number of features and has been extended to be applicable in new contexts

Analysis of MPLS Signaling Protocols and Traffic Dissemination in OSPF and MPLS

First Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS'07), 2007
This paper analyzes MPLS signaling protocols for traffic engineering, shows the capability of providing traffic engineering in MPLS compared to the conventional routing protocol, and explains the MPLS LSR operations based on the basic LSR functionality of classification, queue, and scheduling.

Performance of MPLS

2004
As we described in Chapter 1, Multiprotocol Protocol Label Switching has certain significant characteristics due to integration of the ATM Quality of Service and signaling, and IP forwarding functionality. MPLS forwards the packets through fixed length labels and provides traffic engineering to guarantee the Quality of Service requirements.

2018
Purpose. To conduct studies to optimize the process of traffic transmission over the network with MPLS functions. Methods. Based on the complete topological map of the network, modeled by the graph G=(V, E), a spanning tree of minimum weight is calculated. For this purpose, the OSPF protocol can be applied, which determines the route of the lowest cost
