Viewpoint: Optimising Cancer Treatment to Reduce Its Environmental Impact
ABSTRACT It is widely accepted that treatment and care for patients with cancer must and should happen, as it is what everyone would want for themselves and their loved ones. Everyone wants the best possible care, but climate change and the extreme weather that it causes are increasingly affecting everyone including patients in negative ways.

ABSTRACT Introduction Accurate staging is essential in anal cancer to guide therapy and prognostication. While MRI remains the modality of choice for local staging, its limitations in assessing nodal and distant metastases have prompted evaluation of FDG PET/CT as an adjunct.

A New Dawn—Using Teletrials for Early Phase Drug Development: A Practical Guideline
This article outlines a framework for tertiary trials centers on how to found satellite teletrial sites and prepare themselves for the pros and cons of this approach. ABSTRACT Introduction Access to early‐phase cancer clinical trials is heavily skewed toward urban patients treated at tertiary centers, creating significant inequity for regional/rural (R/

Summary This study provides a comprehensive assessment of haematological malignancies among children, adolescents and young adults aged 0–24 years, using data from the Global Burden of Disease 2021 across 204 countries from 1990 to 2021. We found that global incidence and prevalence remained relatively stable, with approximately 150 000 new cases and ...

MR-guided radiotherapy: magnetic field dose effects
At the UMC Utrecht, together with Elekta Oncology and Philips Research, we are developing a combined system of a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner and a 6 MV linear accelerator for cancer treatment. In contrast to present online imaging methods, superior soft-tissue contrast will be achieved.

Summary Allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) is a curative treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) but carries a high risk of gonadotoxicity. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation (OTC) offers a fertility preservation option, yet its safety in AML remains uncertain due to the risk of leukaemic cell reintroduction. The FERTILAM pilot

Summary Small nucleolar ribonucleic acids (snoRNAs) are a class of small non‐coding RNAs involved in the post‐transcriptional modification of ribosomal RNAs (rRNA) and small nuclear RNAs (snRNA). Mounting evidence indicates that specific snoRNAs are drivers of oncogenesis, but their role in B‐cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (BCP‐ALL) is ...
