MR features of fluid-fluid levels in ovarian masses
European Radiology, 2007To evaluate retrospectively the frequency and imaging features of fluid-fluid levels (FFLs) in pathologically proven ovarian masses on magnetic resonance (MR) images. The authors reviewed the preoperative MR findings of 556 ovarian masses in 428 patients. Presence, numbers, and signal intensities (SI) of FFLs were analyzed.

Viscoelastic properties of MR fluids
Smart Materials and Structures, 1999Mechanical properties of magnetorheological (MR) fluids are classified into pre-yield and post-yield regions according to whether the shear stress is below or above the yield stress. MR fluids within the pre-yield region exhibit viscoelastic properties; and these properties are important for understanding MR suspensions, especially for vibration ...

Constitutive equation of MR fluids
Journal of Central South University of Technology, 2007Magnetorheological(MR) fluids are intelligent materials whose mechanical properties will change with the magnetic field strength. Based on this behavior, the MR fluids can be used in wide practice fields. The constitutive equation is the most important problem of research of MR fluids.

TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF MR FLUIDS
Electrorheological Fluids and Magnetorheological Suspensions, 2002The rheological properties of MR fluids, MRF-132LD, are investigated under the steady shear and oscillatory shear for a range of operating temperatures from 20°C to 60°C. This was accomplished by using an advanced rheometer with the parallel-plate configuration. Under the steady shear, the Herschel–Bulkley model is used to model the rheology of the MR

Rheometry on magnetorheological (MR) fluids
Rheologica Acta, 1996Test fixtures of a commercial concentric cylinder rheometer (Physica Rheolab MC 20) were modified to enable measurements under magnetic inductions up to 0.5 Tesla in a shear rate range of 0.1 up to 1000 s −1 and temperatures 0° to 150°C. In the 2 x90°-cups only two 90° sectors of the stationary part of the double concentric cylinder arrangement are ...

MR Imaging of Pathologic Abdominal Fluid Collections
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1986A retrospective comparison was made of the capability of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and CT to display and characterize pathologic abdominal fluid collections. Fluid collections in 41 patients were analyzed: ascites (seven patients), hematoma (five), pancreatic pseudocyst (four), biloma (two), abscess (four), simple renal cyst (nine), hemorrhagic ...

Electrorheological Fluids and Magnetorheological Suspensions, 2002
Experience in manufacturing magnetorheological (MR) fluids for commercial application has shown that some of the greatest barriers to commercial success are not factors or conditions normally considered in the laboratory. The present paper looks at conditions found in MR fluid devices operating in real-world applications where shear rates may exceed ...

MR imaging of model fluid velocity profiles
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1989A projection MR technique for imaging the velocity profiles of moving fluids has been applied to various steady flow models designed to simulate a variety of flow conditions. From such profiles can be readily deduced peak velocities, volume flow rates, information concerning the degree of flow development, features such as flow separation, and ...

Modeling Perfluorinated Polyether-Based MR Fluids
Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2011This study investigates the field-induced rheological characteristics of PFPE-based MR fluids. Four PFPE-based MR fluid samples were prepared, each with a different solid loading. All samples contain a single grade of carbonyl iron powder with an average particle diameter of 2 µm.
