Speed-Sensorless AC Drive Based on MRAS Scheme with a Novel Observer
Advanced Materials Research, 2013This paper proposes a new flux observer, which combines a current model and a modified voltage model based on an adaptive feedback compensation method. And an adaption algorithm based on MRAS for simultaneous speed estimation is presented. The effectiveness of the proposed method is tested through simulation and is experimentally verified.

Sensorless speed Backstepping Control of induction machine, based on speed MRAS observer
2012 International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 2012In this paper a Sensorless Backstepping Control scheme for rotor speed and rotor flux control of induction motor drive, is proposed. The most interesting point of this technique is to deal with non-linearity of high-order system by using the virtual control variable to make this system simple, and thus the control outputs can be derived step by step ...

Upgraded sensorless direct torque control using MRAS-sliding mode observer for asynchronous motor
2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA), 2020Accurate speed feedback is always required to achieve high performance and good accuracy control for an asynchronous motor. The use of conventional direct speed sensors involves additional electronic components, additional wiring and space, frequent maintenance and careful assembly, which undermine the robustness and inherent reliability of the drive ...

Improved MRAS observer and sensorless control of DFIG during network voltage unbalance
2009 IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference, 2009An improved control scheme for sensorless vector control of grid-connected doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) is presented when the network voltage is unbalanced. The system is based on a rotor current model reference adaptive system (MRAS) in the stator stationary reference frame.

Comparison of sensorless AC drive operation using MRAS method or Luenberger observer
2017 International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (OPTIM) & 2017 Intl Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics (ACEMP), 2017Induction motor is utilized in wide area of electric drive applications. If sophisticated control of speed or torque is required, the actual rotor angular velocity must be known at every time instant. To obtain the speed information, an optical sensor is usually utilized. However, the usage of such sensor brings some undesired effects.

A MRAS Observer Based Sensorless Control of Doubly-Fed Reluctance Wind Turbine Generators
IECON 2020 The 46th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2020A new model reference adaptive system (MRAS) based estimation technique for vector control of a brushlesss doubly fed reluctance generator (BDFRG) without a shaft position sensor is proposed. The rotor speed is being precisely observed in a closed-loop fashion through an iterative error eradication process between the measured and estimated secondary ...

A MRAS-Based Adaptive Pseudoreduced-Order Flux Observer for Sensorless Induction Motor Drives
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2005The performance of vector-controlled sensorless induction motor drives is generally poor at very low speeds, especially at zero speed due to offset and drift components in the acquired feedback signals, and the increased sensitivity of dynamic performance to model parameter mismatch resulting especially from stator resistance variations.

MRAS sensorless based control of IM combining sliding-mode, SVPWM, and Luenberger observer
2011 IEEE EUROCON - International Conference on Computer as a Tool, 2011This paper present a new control strategy in variable speed drives for induction motor (IM) who's aimed at improving the indirect rotor field oriented control (IRFOC), which is well known sensitive to internal and external uncertainties. The control principle is based on sliding-mode control (SMC) combined with space vector modulation technique (SVPWM).

Robust sensorless sliding mode control of PMSM with MRAS and Luenberger extended observer
2016 8th International Conference on Modelling, Identification and Control (ICMIC), 2016This paper is intended to compare and study the operation of two methods for estimating the position and speed of the rotor salient pole synchronous system in a sliding mode control motor. The first method (MRAS) is based on the dynamic model of the salient pole PMSM, formulated in a reference frame linked to the rotor.
