Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1998
AbstractMagnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) has replaced direct cholangiography and pancreatography in many instances. Its complete noninvasiveness and flexibility are less onerous for patients. For the use of screening as well as scrutiny, MRCP has played an important role in diagnosing various pathologies in this field.

In 1991, Wallner et al. [1] and Morimoto et al. [2] first reported MR cholangiography using a steady-state free procession (SSFP) gradient echo sequence. However, the sequence required long period of breath holding, and the spatial resolution was inadequate to allow satisfactory imaging of the pancreatic duct.

Pitfalls of MR Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP)
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1998MR cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) represents a relatively new development in MR technology that provides a noninvasive alternative to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for evaluating pancreaticobiliary tract disease. Although the accuracy of MRCP has been documented in the diagnosis of a variety of diseases including choledocholithiasis ...

Clinical evaluation of further-developed MRCP sequences in comparison with standard MRCP sequences
European Radiology, 2002The purpose of this study was the comparison of technically improved single-shot magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) sequences with standard single-shot rapid acquisition with relaxation enhancement (RARE) and half-Fourier acquired single-shot turbo spin-echo (HASTE) sequences in evaluating the normal and abnormal biliary duct system ...

The roles of multidetector-row computed tomography (MDCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/MR cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) in the diagnosis of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) include the detection, characterization, evaluation of surgical anatomy, and imaging follow-up.
