Interaction of yeast eIF4G with spliceosome components Implications in pre-mRNA processing events [PDF]
As evidenced from mammalian cells the eukaryotic translation initiation factor eIF4G has a putative role in nuclear RNA metabolism. Here we investigate whether this role is conserved in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

This study reveals a copper‐driven mechanism of COPD acute exacerbations mediated by the TNF‐α/ATP7A axis. TNF‐α suppresses the copper transporter ATP7A via competitive NF‐κB/CREB1/CBP signaling, resulting in intracellular copper accumulation, mitochondrial oxidative stress, and epithelial barrier disruption.

mRNA export and the TREX complex
Over the past few decades, we have learned that eukaryotes have evolved sophisticated means to coordinate the nuclear export of mRNAs with different steps of gene expression. This functional orchestration is important for the maintenance of the efficiency and fidelity of gene expression processes.

Structural and Biochemical Studies of the Human DEAD-box Helicase Dbp5 and Nucleoporin Nup214 Involved in mRNA Export [PDF]
The hallmark of eukaryotic evolution was the development of the nucleus in cells. This compartmentalization requires the nucleocytoplasmic transport of thousands of molecules. The gate into and out of the nucleus is the nuclear pore complex (NPC). One of

The nuclear mRNA export receptor Mex67-Mtr2 of Trypanosoma brucei contains a unique and essential zinc finger motif. [PDF]
Trypanosoma brucei is the causative agent of Human African Trypanosomiasis. Trypanosomes are early diverged protozoan parasites and show significant differences in their gene expression compared with higher eukaryotes.

Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...

The UAP56-Interacting Export Factors UIEF1 and UIEF2 Function in mRNA Export [PDF]
In eukaryotes, the regulated transport of mRNAs from the nucleus to the cytosol through nuclear pore complexes represents an important step in the expression of protein-coding genes. In plants, the mechanism of nucleocytosolic mRNA transport and the factors involved are poorly understood. The Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) genome encodes two likely

MKRN2 Physically Interacts with GLE1 to Regulate mRNA Export and Zebrafish Retinal Development
Summary: The mammalian mRNA nuclear export process is thought to terminate at the cytoplasmic face of the nuclear pore complex through ribonucleoprotein remodeling.

Innate Immunocompetent hiPSC‐Derived Neurospheroids Capture Early CNS Responses to rAAV
Knowledge of human CNS immune responses to AAV‐based gene therapies remains limited due to the lack of immune‐competent human models. Here, a hiPSC‐derived 3D neuroimmune platform integrating neurospheroids and microglia is established using stirred‐tank bioreactors.
