Safety, Immunogenicity, and Mechanism of a Rotavirus mRNA-LNP Vaccine in Mice
Rotaviruses (RVs) are a major cause of diarrhea in young children worldwide. The currently available and licensed vaccines contain live attenuated RVs. Optimization of live attenuated RV vaccines or developing non-replicating RV (e.g., mRNA) vaccines is ...

Development of mRNA rabies vaccines
Rabies, primarily transmitted to humans by dogs (accounting for 99% of cases). Once rabies occurs, its mortality rate is approximately 100%. Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is critical for preventing the onset of rabies after exposure to rabid animals, and vaccination is a pivotal element of PEP.

Depletion of the RNA‐Editing Enzyme ADAR1 Invigorates the Antitumor Immunity of NK Cells
ADAR1 is upregulated in NK cells from melanoma patients, impairing their function. Its loss enhances NK cell tumor infiltration and cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, ADAR1 deficiency destabilizes CD38 mRNA to reduce its expression, thereby increasing NK cell mobility and killing, which nominates it as a therapeutic target for NK cell ...

Relevance of the variability of the feline immunodeficiency virus in regard to pathogenicity and vaccination in New Zealand : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Science, Massey University, Manawatū, New Zealand [PDF]
Cats infected with the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) show a range of clinical signs. Given the variability of the FIV genome, it is possible that there is variation in certain biological characteristics of FIV, such as pathogenicity.

We present a novel DNA vaccine platform featuring intrinsic, non‐targeting dsRNA that significantly enhances immune responses by activating the regulated IRE1‐dependent decay‐RIG‐I signaling pathway. This research elucidates a previously uncharacterized mechanism for dsRNA‐mediated innate immune activation.

Nanoparticle Immunoadjuvant Complexes Augment Germinal Center Responses to Vaccination
Scaffolding IL‐21 on the surface of a self‐assembling nanoparticle immunogen drives improved germinal center and humoral immune responses. These nanoparticle immunoadjuvant complexes (NICs) functionally modulate the germinal center driving improved somatic hypermutation and antibody maturation, suggesting this platform has potential utility as a ...

A genome‐wide CRISPR screen and identifies PIK3CA as a key regulator of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) uptake is performed. Modulating PIK3CA with small‐molecule inhibitor BAY1082439 enhanced LNP uptake, siRNA delivery, and gene silencing in a variety of epithelial cells, and improved therapeutic outcomes in vivo.

Doehl et al. discovered an adaptive neuroimmune mechanism that induces itch in tick‐exposed guinea pigs, enabling rapid tick removal. This itch‐induced tick removal (IITR) is mediated by an adaptive cellular immune response and is independent of IgG, IgE, or TRPV1.
