Synthesis, characterization, and performance of x_MoO3/Z‐22 and x_MoO3/MMP catalysts for biodiesel production

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 6, Page 2820-2841, June 2026.
Methyl transesterification of soybean oil using heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production. Abstract The growing global demand for renewable fuels has driven the search for efficient catalysts in biodiesel production. This study presents the synthesis and characterization of x_MoO3/Z‐22 and x_MoO3/MMP heterogeneous catalysts, and evaluates the ...

Silicon Microring Resonator Biosensor for Detection of Nucleocapsid Protein of SARS-CoV-2

open access: yesSensors
A high-sensitivity silicon microring (Si MRR) optical biosensor for detecting the nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 is proposed and demonstrated. In the proposed biosensor, the surface of a Si MRR waveguide is modified with antibodies, and the target ...

Input Layer Regularization and Automated Regularization Hyperparameter Tuning for Myelin Water Estimation Using Deep Learning

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2026.
We propose a novel deep learning algorithm for predicting the myelin water fraction from multiple gradient‐echo or spin‐echo pulse sequences arising in magnetic resonance relaxometry (MRR) measurements of the human brain. Our method incorporates both regularized nonlinear least squares and pure deep learning through a concatenation paradigm known as ...

Wheat's war against stripe rust: Integrating host immunity, genomics and breeding for durable resistance

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), a foundation of global food security, faces persistent threats from stripe rust caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst). The pathogen thrives in cool and humid environments and regularly causes epidemics that lead to severe yield losses.

Identification of resistance sources and genomic regions regulating spot blotch resistance in Asian bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) via genome‐wide association study

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Spot blotch (SB), caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana, is a major yield‐limiting disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in the warm, humid agroclimatic zones of South Asia. The development of resistant cultivars through molecular approaches offers a sustainable strategy for managing this disease.

PENDULUM MOBILITY IN THE METROPOLITAN REGION OF RECIFE (MRR)

open access: yes, 2019
Studies that deal with daily commuting for reasons of work and/or study are incipient when referring to the pendularity in the Metropolitan Region of Recife (MRR). Therefore, this paper proposes to analyze the characteristics of pendulum mobility among fourteen municipalities of MRR in the year of 2010. To do so, the microdata of the demographic census

Predicting Head Loss and Hydraulic Roughness of Channel‐Spanning Large Wood Jams

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract Log jams enhance hydraulic and geomorphic diversity in river corridors. Channel‐spanning log jams induce backwatering, increase local flow heterogeneity, promote sediment deposition, and improve aquatic habitat diversity. Despite their increasing popularity in river restoration, predicting their hydraulic effects remains a challenge.

Relationship of Dye Adsorption Onto Biomass Activated Carbon Mixed Matrix Ultrafiltration: A Mass Transfer Model Study

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 9, 5 May 2026.
This study explored dye molecule adsorption from water, focusing on activated carbon in polymer membranes for purifying low‐quality water. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes showed enhanced removal efficiency of methylene blue (MB) from 89.29% to 98.33% with biomass‐activated carbon (BAC).
