Milk samples (0.5 g) were blended with 2 grams of C-18 (octadecylsilyl-derivatized silica column packing material). A column was made from the C-18/milk matrix and first washed with hexane.

The best results were obtained using 2.0 g of banana, 1.0 g of silica as dispersant sorbent and n-hexane:ethyl acetate (1:4, v/v) as eluting solvent.
