An image of Mt. Vesuvius obtained by 2D seismic tomography
Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research, 1998A high-resolution seismic tomography of Mt.Vesuvius was started in May 1994, with the aim of reconstructing the detailed shallow crustal structure underneath the volcano and define its feeding system. The first phase of the experiment was to perform a 2D profile, using three underground explosions as active sources.

The seismicity of Mt. Vesuvius
Tectonophysics, 1996Abstract Over the last years, in order to improve the quality of the determination of earthquake locations as well as the reliability of the fault-plane solutions, three-component digital stations were temporarily added to the permanent seismic network of the Osservatorio Vesuviano operating in the Vesuvius area.

Seismic Monitoring of Mt. Vesuvius by Array Methods
Seismological Research Letters, 2014Mt. Vesuvius is a worldwide known active volcano located in Southern Italy, east of the city of Napoli. Its last eruption occurred in 1944, ending a continuous openāconduit activity that lasted for more than three centuries. After then the volcano entered into a quiescent phase. Nonetheless, the explosive style of its past activity and its proximity to

3D Scattering Image of Mt. Vesuvius
Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 2009In this article we apply a passive scattering-imaging method, derived from the method developed by Nishigami (1991) to data from the coda of the local volcano-tectonic (VT) earthquakes of Mt. Vesuvius. This method provides the space distribution of the strong scatterers together with a rough estimate of their strength.
