AI‐Driven Hemodynamic Detection of Self‐Induced Daydreaming With EMG‐Based Physiological Triggers During Pre‐ and Post‐Prandial States Using fNIRS and EGG

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
(A) Problem analysis and its consequences: In a non‐DD State, chewing motor activity increases and brain cognitive activity decreases and in a DD State, chewing motor activity reduces and brain cognitive activity increases. Moreover, in the pre‐prandial state, DD episodes and frequency increases, and in the post‐prandial state, DD episodes and ...

Where You End and I Begin : Notes on Subjectivity and Ethics in the Translation of Poetry

open access: yes, 2017
What can translation teach us about poetry and poetics? To what extent is a lyric constellation portable, and to what extent is it embedded in a particular culture or language? How much of a foreign syntax can be replicated before things break down? What

Stability‐Driven Selection of EEG Connectivity Features for Psychosis Classification: A Network‐Based Machine Learning Approach

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
A stability‐driven machine learning framework using EEG connectivity and network features enables accurate classification of psychosis. Theta‐band connectivity and global network efficiency emerge as consistent and interpretable markers, highlighting the importance of reproducible feature selection in small‐sample neuroimaging studies.

Research on Adaptive Irrigation Decision‐Making Method for the Entire Growth Cycle of Water Spinach Based on Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
An environmentally enhanced proximal policy optimization (EN‐PPO) method is proposed for adaptive irrigation of water spinach across the full growth cycle. By integrating soil moisture, growth stage, rainfall, and evapotranspiration information, the method improves irrigation timing, water‐saving performance, and rainfall utilization while maintaining ...

Subsistence Through Disappearance: Theology of the Unseen in the Films of Michelangelo Antonioni

open access: yesFuture Humanities, Volume 4, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The present study contends that the theology of Michelangelo Antonioni's 1960s cinema is structured by a reductio ad absurdum logic, whereby the presence of certain qualities is proven by the portrayal of their absence. It is argued that Antonioni's intention to show what is by specifying what is not may have been rooted in a modernist ...

Selective Modulation of Evidence Accumulation by Hippocampal Theta Oscillations During Mnemonic Decision‐Making

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 7, May 2026.
Hippocampal theta power during memory retrieval predicts evidence accumulation in a mnemonic similarity task. Trial‐level MEG signals were integrated with a linear ballistic accumulator model, revealing that theta oscillations modulate decision dynamics, linking neural variability to memory‐based discrimination performance.

Chronic Pain: Epidemiology, Pathophysiology, and Clinical Management

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
The multidimensional nature of chronic pain is illustrated through four interconnected domains. (Left) Epidemiology and Global Burden: Chronic pain affects approximately one in five individuals globally, contributing to a rising trend in disability‐adjusted life years (YLDs) and a significant socioeconomic impact.

Exploring the Role of Vascular Factors and Tissue Properties in Pulsatile Brain Deformation

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study combined strain tensor imaging (STI), intrinsic magnetic resonance elastography (iMRE), and atlas‐based regional metrics to explore physiological drivers of cardiac‐induced brain strain. Volumetric strain was mainly associated with vascular factors such as cerebral blood volume and pulse pressure, whereas octahedral shear strain correlated ...

Couples Sharing Sleep and Sickness: Dyadic Sleep‐Wake Patterns, Health Consequences, and Intervention Efficacy in Cancer Patient‐Caregiver Dyads—A Systematic Review and Preliminary Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPsycho-Oncology, Volume 35, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Sleep disturbances are prevalent among cancer patient‐caregiver dyads, yet their interdependent sleep patterns remain understudied. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to synthesize evidence on dyadic sleep‐wake patterns, health consequences (physical, psychological, and relationship health), and the effectiveness of dyadic ...

Cardiopulmonary arrest following extradural analgesia and suspected secondary sympathetic blockade in a critically ill dog

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract An 8‐year‐old, male, entire Cocker Spaniel presented to the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals for treatment of an iatrogenic septic uroabdomen secondary to traumatic urinary catheterisation. After initial stabilisation, it underwent diagnostic imaging and definitive surgical correction comprising a cystotomy and bladder reconstruction.
