Realizing the promise of ‘La Dolce Vita’ via chemical biology: glycan‐motif editing of sLeX for precision cancer therapeutics

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Modification of the glycocalyx via ‘glycan editing’ is distinguishable from ‘glycan‐motif editing’. The former broadly remodels the glycocalyx, whereas the latter inhibits expression only of a specific oligosaccharide motif within the glycocalyx by selectively dampening the bioactivity of the key glycosyltransferase(s) programming the biosynthesis of ...

Blood group O expression in normal tissues and tumors

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The H antigen (O blood group), the precursor to A and B blood groups, is expressed on human erythrocytes. Two novel monoclonal antibodies generated using sea lamprey immunization, Tn4‐31L and OmcFL3‐02, specifically detect the H antigen on glycan microarrays, glycoproteins, and human cells.

Primary cutaneous NUT adnexal carcinoma: morphologic, genetic and methylation analysis of seven new cases with comparison to extracutaneous NUT carcinoma and NUTM1‐rearranged porocarcinoma

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
Microscopic features of a NUTM1 adnexal carcinoma magnification. This neoplasm consisted of large, poorly demarcated tumors, sometimes ulcerated infiltrated the dermis and subcutaneous tissue (HPS ×10). The lesions were organized in strands, cords and larger solid nests of poorly differentiated cells characterized by enlarged, irregular nuclei (HPS ×20)
