A Case Series and Literature Review of Angiosarcoma With Malignant Effusion—A Challenging Cytologic Diagnosis With Dire Prognostic Implications

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, Volume 53, Issue 7, Page E119-E126, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Angiosarcoma with malignant effusion is an uncommon yet clinically aggressive presentation, which poses as a diagnostic pitfall with its overlapping cytomorphologic features with metastatic adenocarcinoma. In this article, two cases reported in the literature were reviewed for cytology, immunocytochemistry, and clinical course.

Urachal Villous Adenoma Coexistent With Urachal Carcinoma: A Case Report

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, Page 343-347, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Urinary tract villous adenomas are uncommon, urachal villous adenomas being especially rare. While their malignant potential remains uncertain, villous adenomas may have malignant components. Here, we present a case of the coexistence of a urachal villous adenoma and urachal carcinoma. Case Presentation We report the case of an 86‐

Rectal Neuroendocrine Tumor With Non‐Atypical Mucous Cell Glands: A Case Report

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) of rectal origin containing non‐neuroendocrine components are extremely rare. Additionally, there have been no previous reports of NENs accompanied by nonmalignant components. Herein, we report a case of an NEN accompanied by mucous cell glands that could not be regarded as a carcinoma.

Triplet Regimen of Metronomic Capecitabine Plus Antiangiogenic Drug and PD‐1 Inhibitor as Later‐Line Salvage Treatment for Patients With MSS/pMMR Metastatic Colorectal Cancer: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2025.
A retrospective propensity score‐matched analysis demonstrated that the triplet regimen exhibited significantly improved antitumor efficacy compared to other later‐line therapies in patients with microsatellite stable/mismatch repair proficient (MSS/pMMR) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).

The Interplay of Cross‐Organ Immune Regulation in Inflammation and Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2025.
Organs interact dynamically through immune regulation, influencing systemic immune responses and disease progression. We review molecular and cellular mechanisms of cross‐organ immune regulation in inflammation and cancer, focusing on gut, liver, and brain interactions with other organs.

Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2025.
Persistent ER stress in tumors activates UPR sensors (IRE1α, PERK, ATF6), driving cancer proliferation, metastasis, immune evasion, and drug resistance. This review explores UPR‐mediated signaling crosstalk, angiogenesis, and therapeutic targeting to develop safer anticancer strategies.

Interaction Between Microbiota and Immunity: Molecular Mechanisms, Biological Functions, Diseases, and New Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2025.
This review systematically concludes the interaction between microbiota and immunity. We introduce six phyla: Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, Fusobacteria, and Verrucomicrobia. We also elucidate molecular mechanisms, biological functions, diseases, and new therapeutic opportunities between microbiota and immunity. .

Mucinous Ovarian Carcinoma

New England Journal of Medicine, 2019
(Abstracted from N Engl J Med 2019;380:1256–1266) Mucinous ovarian cancer is a rare form of epithelial ovarian cancer, accounting for approximately 3% of all cases. New understanding of the biological features of this unique disease requires an update to traditional diagnostic and therapeutic protocols that have been historically based on ...
