Mucinous carcinoma of the rectum

Histopathology, 1987
We have studied and compared 316 mucinous and 45 signet ring cell carcinomas of the rectum with 413 non‐mucinous carcinomas. Mucinous carcinomas were subdivided according to the amount of mucus which was gauged subjectively as either more or less than 75% of the tumour volume. Five year survivals for non‐mucinous, mucinous (<75%), mucinous (>75%)

Mucin in carcinomas of the thyroid

Cancer, 1985
One hundred forty-two cases of thyroid carcinomas were studied to assess the frequency with which mucinous deposits occur within the neoplastic cells. In contrast to the literature, which contains only a few scattered reports on this topic, the production of mucin by carcinomas of the thyroid was relatively frequently observed in our material.

Mucins in breast carcinoma

Human Pathology, 1988
Mucins produced by breast carcinoma have been shown to be neutral and sialomucins. Colonic mucins were found to be sulfated with an o-acylated sialomucin component that was reported by Culling to be specific to normal colonic epithelium and colonic adenocarcinoma.

Micropapillary pattern in pure mucinous carcinoma of the breast – does it matter or not?

Histopathology, 2018
Pure mucinous carcinoma (PMC) of the breast is a low‐grade cancer. In this study, we aimed to elucidate the prognostic significance of micropapillary structures in breast PMC.

Mucin expression in mucinous carcinoma and other invasive carcinomas of the breast

Cancer Letters, 1999
To investigate mucin expression in breast cancer, immunohistochemical staining was performed on 30 mucinous carcinomas and 95 non-mucinous invasive carcinomas. MUC2 expression was detected in all mucinous carcinomas, but only in 11.1% of invasive ductal carcinomas, and in none of the invasive lobular carcinomas and medullary carcinomas.

Primary Mucinous Carcinoma of the Skin

The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 2000
Primary mucinous carcinomas of the skin are very rare. To date, 120 cases have been described in the literature. This tumor is a histologic subtype of sweat gland carcinoma. Because of the histopathologic appearance, primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin can be mistaken for metastasis from extracutaneous sites.

Mucinous (Adenocystic) Carcinoma of the Eyelid

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1973
An unusual tumor on the eyelid was characterized as a primary mucinous adenocarcinoma of sweat gland origin on the basis of histologic criteria and histochemical stains. This lesion should be differentiated from other types of hidradenocarcinoma and from metastatic mucinous adenocarcinoma of the skin.

Mucinous carcinoma of the breast

Radiopaedia.org, 2016
Mucinous carcinoma represents from 2 to 3% of invasive cancers (Ref. 1). It particularly affects older women (> 60 years old). Lymph node metastases are rare (2% 4%). The diagnosis is confirmed by micro biopsy.

Mucinous Carcinoma and IPMN

2018
Mucin-producing tumors of the pancreas represent a group of premalignant or malignant neoplasms forming multilocular cysts and lined by tall, columnar mucinous epithelium. These tumors are broadly divided into mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCN) and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) which have different biologic behavior and pathologic ...

Imaging features of pure and mixed forms of mucinous breast carcinoma with histopathological correlation.

British Journal of Radiology, 2019
METHODS: A cross-sectional study identified cases of mucinous breast carcinoma from pathology records (2004-2012). Two radiologists classified imaging features by consensus and two pathologists classified cases into pure or mixed subtypes.
