Mucin-producing parathyroid carcinoma
Bone, 1992A 67-year-old white male presented with symptomatic hypercalcemia (15.6 mg/dl) in December 1989. He had undergone thyroidectomy for removal of a mucin-producing adenocarcinoma of the thyroid in 1967, and after eight years of follow-up during which time no other neoplasms were detected, he was reported as a unique case of this syndrome.

Mucin-producing gallbladder carcinoma
Journal of Medical Ultrasonics, 2011A 54-year-old Japanese woman presented with epigastralgia. Physical examination revealed tenderness in the epigastrium. Laboratory test results showed elevated levels of AST (103 mU/ml), ALT (203 mU/ml), gamma GTP (642 mU/ml), and ALP (2,132 mU/ml).

Human Pathology, 1988
Mucins produced by breast carcinoma have been shown to be neutral and sialomucins. Colonic mucins were found to be sulfated with an o-acylated sialomucin component that was reported by Culling to be specific to normal colonic epithelium and colonic adenocarcinoma.

The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1993
BACKGROUND. Mucinous or colloid carcinoma is an uncommon breast neoplasm which is generally associated with a good prognosis. Metastases tend to occur late in the disease and are found principally in lymph nodes, lungs, and bones. The longest latency period reported for development of a distant metastasis is 30 years after primary resection of the ...

Mucinous carcinoma of the rectum
Histopathology, 1987We have studied and compared 316 mucinous and 45 signet ring cell carcinomas of the rectum with 413 non‐mucinous carcinomas. Mucinous carcinomas were subdivided according to the amount of mucus which was gauged subjectively as either more or less than 75% of the tumour volume. Five year survivals for non‐mucinous, mucinous (<75%), mucinous (>75%)

Mucinous carcinoma of the skin
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1997Primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin is a rare adnexal neoplasm with sweat gland differentiation. We describe a case of primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin and characterize its clinical and histologic features. Mucinous carcinoma can occur in noncutaneous visceral sites and may metastasize to the skin.

COMBINED HEPATOCELLULAR AND MUCINOUS CARCINOMA
Acta Pathologica Japonica, 1986A rare autopsy case of combined liver cell and bile duct carcinoma (CLBC) occurring in a 51‐year‐old male with alcoholic liver cirrhosis is presented. Histologically, while the primary lesion was solely composed of well differentiated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), intrahepatic metastases consisted of a variable admixture of HCC and cholangiocarcinoma

Mucinous Carcinoma of Sweat Glands
Tumori Journal, 1995Three cases of primary cutaneous mucinous carcinoma of sweat gland origin are presented. Patients were a 47-year-old man and 2 females aged 70 and 71 years. The clinical and pathologic features of the described tumors were similar to those reported in the literature, except for 2 of the involved sites (abdominal skin and vulva), not previously ...

Distinguishing Benign Dissecting Mucin (Stromal Mucin Pools) From Invasive Mucinous Carcinoma
Advances in Anatomic Pathology, 2008Mucin dissecting stroma suggests the presence of an invasive mucinous (colloid) carcinoma. However, in virtually every organ in which invasive mucinous carcinoma exists, there exist benign mimickers associated with dissecting mucin. This article reviews diagnostic criteria for the differential diagnosis of mucinous lesions of the breast, pancreas ...

Mucin expression in mucinous carcinoma and other invasive carcinomas of the breast
Cancer Letters, 1999To investigate mucin expression in breast cancer, immunohistochemical staining was performed on 30 mucinous carcinomas and 95 non-mucinous invasive carcinomas. MUC2 expression was detected in all mucinous carcinomas, but only in 11.1% of invasive ductal carcinomas, and in none of the invasive lobular carcinomas and medullary carcinomas.
