Purification of Low‐Complexity Domain Proteins FUS, EWSR1, and Their Fusions

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 5, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract FET proteins are large multifunctional proteins that have several key roles in biology. The FET family of proteins, including FUS, EWSR1, and TAF15, play critical roles in transcription regulation, RNA processing, and DNA damage repair.

CRTC1–MAML2 fusion in mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the breast

open access: yesHistopathology, 2018
Mucoepidermoid carcinomas (MEC) are the most common malignant neoplasms of salivary glands, but are uncommon in other sites. Salivary gland MEC are most frequently associated with CRTC1–MAML2 translocations. Exceedingly rare MEC of the breast demonstrate

Primary Pulmonary Endobronchial Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma Treated With Sleeve Resection in a 23‐Year‐Old Woman: Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
We report a case of a 23‐year‐old woman who presented with intermittent haemoptysis. On imaging, an endoluminal mass was seen in the bronchus intermedius, also visualised on bronchoscopy, although biopsies were inconclusive. Final histology after surgical resection revealed a low‐grade PMEC with tumour‐free margins.

Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of the Palatine Tonsil

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncological Medicine, 2015
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common primary salivary gland malignancy in both adults and children. It has a slight female predilection and usually presents as a painless, rubber-like or soft mass, which may be fixed or mobile. Histologically, MEC is comprised of a mixture of cell types including mucous, epidermoid, and intermediate cells ...

Secondary mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the orbit

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016
A 40-year-old man presented with right eye axial proptosis and ophthalmoplegia for 3 months. Imaging study showed a right intraconal mass with the erosion of the orbital floor. Incisional biopsy revealed mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Nasal endoscopy was normal and systemic tumor screening was negative for a primary source.

Mucoepidermoid lung carcinoma in child

open access: yesAnnals of Medical and Health Sciences Research, 2014
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is a rare malignant tumor arising from the bronchial gland. A case of 6-year-old male child who presented with fever, hemoptysis and wheezing since 1month is reported. Chest X-ray showed features suggestive of foreign body with post-obstructive pneumonia and was treated for the same with medication without much ...

Role of CRTC1/MAML2 Translocation in the Prognosis and Clinical Outcomes of Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma.

open access: yesJAMA Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 2016
IMPORTANCE The CRTC1/MAML2 fusion transcript, which arises from the CRTC1/MAML2 translocation, is a molecular marker unique to mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC), the most common malignant tumor of the salivary gland.

CRTC1-MAML2 fusion-induced lncRNA LINC00473 expression maintains the growth and survival of human mucoepidermoid carcinoma cells

open access: yesOncogene, 2017
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) arises in many glandular tissues and contributes to the most common malignant salivary gland cancers. MEC is specifically associated with a unique t(11;19) translocation and the resulting CRTC1-MAML2 fusion is a major ...

Central mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the mandible

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dental Research, 2010
Central mucoepidermoid carcinoma are extremely rare tumors, representing about 2 to 4% of all mucoepidermoid carcinomas. They are histologically low-grade cancers, usually affecting the mandible as uni- or multilocular radiographic lesions. Effective surgical treatment involving wide local excision or en bloc resection, allows patients to have a ...

Multi‐institutional retrospective study of mucoepidermoid carcinoma treated with carbon‐ion radiotherapy

open access: yesCancer Science, 2017
This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of patients with mucoepidermoid carcinomas in the head and neck treated with carbon‐ion radiotherapy. Data from 26 patients who underwent carbon‐ion radiotherapy in four facilities were analyzed in this ...
