Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid of the Vulva
Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2005Mucous membrane pemphigoid is a rare autoimmune blistering disease primarily affecting mucosal surfaces. Intravenous Immunoglobulins and Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid
Ophthalmology, 2008This pilot study reports our clinical experience with IVIgs as an effective therapeutic option in treating 6 patients with severe MMP. Following specific inclusion criteria, all patients responded to IVIg therapy, and they experienced the resolution of all oral and extraoral lesions with a significantly higher quality of life.

Mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP) is the subgroup of pemphigoid which affects mucous membranes. Several subtypes are classified based on clinical symptoms and target antigens, such as ocular mucous membrane pemphigoid (OMMP), localized vulvar pemphigoid (LVP), and anti-laminin 332 MMP (anti-LN-332 MMP).
