Nematicidal hydrocarbons from Mucuna aterrima

Phytochemistry, 1996
Two bioactive natural products were isolated from Mucuna aterrima leaves and stems. The bioassay was made in vitro with Meloidogyne incognita strain 3 and in vivo in the greenhouse using tomato plants. The products were an aliphatic alcohol (1-triacontanol) and an ester (triacontyl tetracosanate).

High metabolic diversity and enzymatic potential of bacteria isolated from Mucuna aterrima nodules in the Brazilian Cerrado

Revista Caderno Pedagógico
The isolation of rhizosphere microorganisms has been used as a strategy to select bacteria capable of producing enzymes of agricultural and industrial interest. This study aimed to select, morphologically characterize, biochemically and molecularly identify endophytic bacteria isolated from root nodules of Mucuna aterrima grown in the Brazilian Cerrado.

On-Farm Assessment of No-Till Onion Production and Cover Crop Effects on Soil Physical and Chemical Properties and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Agronomy
The adoption of conservation systems in agriculture has been increasingly explored as a strategy to improve soil quality and potentially influence greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This study reports the first assessment of GHG emissions within a long-term

Soil carbon dynamics in a long-term corn-soybean rotation system with cover crops in succession

Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira
The objective of this work was to evaluate changes in soil carbon contents and stocks in a ten-year long experiment under no-tillage, with the transition from corn to soybean, with cover crops and spontaneous vegetation in succession.

Carbon and nitrogen release from cover crop roots is poorly predicted by their chemical composition

Agronomy Journal
Root‐derived carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) release in relation to chemical composition has rarely been quantified in field studies. The objectives of this study were to evaluate C and N release from six summer cover crop roots and to correlate it with ...
