Nematicidal hydrocarbons from Mucuna aterrima

Phytochemistry, 1996
Two bioactive natural products were isolated from Mucuna aterrima leaves and stems. The bioassay was made in vitro with Meloidogyne incognita strain 3 and in vivo in the greenhouse using tomato plants. The products were an aliphatic alcohol (1-triacontanol) and an ester (triacontyl tetracosanate).

High metabolic diversity and enzymatic potential of bacteria isolated from Mucuna aterrima nodules in the Brazilian Cerrado

Caderno Pedagógico
The isolation of rhizosphere microorganisms has been used as a strategy to select bacteria capable of producing enzymes of agricultural and industrial interest. This study aimed to select, morphologically characterize, biochemically and molecularly identify endophytic bacteria isolated from root nodules of Mucuna aterrima grown in the Brazilian Cerrado.
