Mueller matrix polarimetry for improved liver fibrosis diagnosis [PDF]
An experimental Mueller matrix polarimeter is used to quantify human liver fibrosis by measuring retardance and depolarization of thin biopsies. The former parameter is sensitive to fibrillar collagen, the latter is specifically sensitive to fibrillar collagen around blood vessels, which is not significant for liver fibrosis diagnosis.

Experimental Mueller matrix polarimetry with full Poincaré beams and a CCD camera [PDF]
Recently, the use of full Poincaré beams for extracting the Mueller matrix of a sample has been proposed. These beams present all possible polarization states across their transverse section.

Polarimetric approach for well-defined impurities detection in isotropic materials [PDF]
In this paper, a new kind of approach to reveal the presence of well-defined impurities in isotropic materials is proposed and verified against actual measurements over real samples. The rationale lies in the different polarimetric symmetry properties of

Time-resolved Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry
We present a new method of time-resolved Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry for spatial and temporal characterization of the polarization effects in backscattering from turbid media. The technique allows measuring the time evolution of spatially varying polarization patterns of diffusely backscattered light with picosecond resolution.

Physical Significance of the Determinant of a Mueller Matrix
The determinant of a Mueller matrix M plays an important role in both polarization algebra and the interpretation of polarimetric measurements. While certain physical quantities encoded in M admit a direct interpretation, the understanding of the ...

Mueller matrix polarimetry using full Poincaré beams
Full Poincaré beams (FPBs) are proposed for polarimetric applications. Such beams present all states of totally polarized light across their transverse section at once and therefore can be considered as parallel polarization state generators. A simple setup, including a FPB as input light, has been designed and implemented to measure the Mueller matrix
