Mueller polarimetry in the back focal plane

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
A new Mueller polarimeter based on liquid crystals and a microscope objective is presented, for the characterization of diffraction gratings in a conical diffraction mounting. Fast measurements of complete Mueller matrices over a range of polar angles (0-56°) and azimuthal angles (0-360°) are achieved without mechanical movements.

Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry - for tissue imaging

2015 International Conference on Industrial Instrumentation and Control (ICIC), 2015
Polarimetric Imaging is an emerging technique that uses polarized light to probe the physical and physiological properties of tissues. Polarization Ellipsometric techniques are utilized to understand the variation of polarization properties of light through sample tissue.

Double-pass axially resolved confocal Mueller matrix imaging polarimetry

Optics Letters, 2005
We present experimental depth-resolved complete polarization-sensitive measurements of a stack of linear retarders and glass plates by using what is to the best of our knowledge the first combination of a confocal imaging system with a complete Mueller matrix polarimeter.

Enhancement of confocal microscopy images using Mueller‐matrix polarimetry

Journal of Microscopy, 2009
SummaryA simplified procedure based on Mueller‐matrix polarimetry has recently been reported as a method of retinal image improvement in a confocal ophthalmoscope [J. M. Bueno et al., J. Opt. Soc. Am. A 24, 1337 (2007)]. Here, we have applied the technique to imaging static samples providing well‐defined reflection properties.

Mueller and Kennaugh matrices in radar polarimetry

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1994
This paper is concerned with the notions of the Mueller matrix and the Kennaugh (or Stokes scattering) matrix, that are commonly used in the field of radar polarimetry. Although these two matrices are quite similar, there exists a basic difference between them that seems to have been overlooked by a number of researchers, resulting in a great deal of ...
