Mukaddime, written by ibn Haldun, includes some historical and technical information about music. In this study, he also separated a private part about music. In this part, he gives information about art and history of music, additionally studied on some instruments belonging to his time.

This article examined the social relations of Nestorians and Kurds in the period from the 19th century to the First World War. The data used in the study were obtained through semi-structured interviews, which were conducted in Hakkari city.

Ibn Khaldun was born in Tunisia in 1332 BC. His life was spent in Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and Egypt. He completed his education and training in Tunis, the centre of science and culture of that period. He served as vizier, qadi, clerk and ambassador. Ibn Khaldun's ideas did not attract much attention in his time.
