A Tale of Two Entangled Instabilities—The Dual Role of δ-O in HgBa2Can-1CunO2(n+1)+δ

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
Low-energy instabilities in the hole-doped cuprates include, besides short range antiferromagnetic fluctuations and superconductivity, also ubiquitous translational and rotational symmetry breakings.

A Near-Infrared Multi-Band Perfect Absorber Based on 1D Gold Grating Fabry-Perot Structure

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In recent years, multi-band perfect absorbers have great advantages in spectroscopy, infrared detection and other fields. Here we propose and use the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method to numerically calculate the multi-band absorber based on 1D

Superconducting Fluctuations in a Multi-Band 1D Hubbard Model

open access: yes, 1994
A renormalization-group and bosonization approach for a multi-band Hubbard Hamiltonian in one dimension is described. Based on the limit of many bands, it is argued that this Hamiltonian with bare repulsive electron-electron interactions is scaled under ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Multi-band microbolometer in CMOS technology

open access: yesOptics Express
Multi-spectral imaging enhances the information diversity of the object with complex, expensive, and low integrated components. Here, we demonstrated an antenna-coupled microbolometric detector in complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology, utilizing SiO2 absorption and L-shaped fractal antenna to achieve multi-band detection from ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Integrated Wideband Multiplexer Design for Multiple-Use SATCOM/Terrestrial Terminals

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
A novel wideband multiplexer is introduced as a communications equipment solution in order to provide simultaneous operation of satellite and terrestrial services in the dedicated $K$/$Ka$ frequency bands (passbands ranging from 19.5 GHz to 30.5 GHz ...
