Multi-band SIW antenna with modulated metasurface at 5G frequency

2018 IEEE Indian Conference on Antennas and Propogation (InCAP), 2018
This paper proposes a multi-band SIW antenna which is linearly polarized. The antenna consists of a T-shaped radiator inscribed on the upper side of the dielectric substrate. This radiator is responsible for multi-band occurrence. The operating frequency is chosen to be 28 GHz, which is a valid selection for 5G applications.

Modulation of a multi-band tunable metamaterial with metal disk array

Optical Materials, 2020
Abstract A multi-band metamaterial with vanadium dioxide (VO2) layer is proposed, manufactured, and measured in the terahertz (THz) band. Two absorption peaks (P1 and P2) are excited at 33.88 THz (60% amplitude, and 0.7 THz full width at half maximum (FWHM)) and 37.94 THz (76% amplitude, and 1.62 THz FWHM) at room temperature. The P1 peak is achieved

Multi-Band RF Downconversion Over Fiber With a Single Modulator

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2018
We present the theory for an experimental verification of a new technique to combine multiple microwave signals populating a wide spectrum into a single, small band for further relay or processing. The method is an extension of well-known RF-over-fiber downconversion techniques but with multiple local oscillators (LOs) to translate widely spaced ...

Experimental Verification of Visible Light Communications based on Multi-Band CAP Modulation

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2015
A multi-band CAP system is experimentally demonstrated for the first time in VLC. We show that with an 8-CAP testbed spectral efficiencies (∼4.75 b/s/Hz) at a realistic distance of 1 m can be reached.

Multi-band printed monopole antenna for ubiquitous module in mobile station

2nd European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2007), 2007
Current mobile communication systems in W-CDMA systems are assigned three frequency bands in Japan. We present and investigate a multi-resonant printed monopole antenna (80×120×1.6 mm3) for a small wireless packet communication module (called a ubiquitous communication module).

Balanced SiGe PA Module for Multi-Band and Multi-Mode Cellular-Phone Applications

2008 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference - Digest of Technical Papers, 2008
In this paper, the integration of a MM (GSM/EDGE/WCDMA) MB (850/900MHz, 1800/1900/2100MHz) 50 Omega-matched isolator-less flip-chip PAs, capable of envelope and power tracking operation, is discussed. The PAs are integrated in a 0.25 mum SiGe technology and are soldered on a 4-layer substrate. The system is hosted in a 6 x 8 mm2 plastic module.

Advanced multi-band modulation technology for underwater communication systems

2015
In recent years, underwater communication (UWC) systems have been attractive in the development of civilian and military applications. However, there are many challenging issues surrounding such communication systems due to severe channel conditions such as ambient noise, frequency selectivity, multi-path with significant tap delays and Doppler shifts.

A comparison of different module configurations for multi-band-gap solar cells

Solar Cells, 1988
Abstract The use of different module configurations with multijunction (MJ) solar cells was investigated. Module configuration refers to the electrical circuit in which the subcells of the MJ cell are connected. The simplest configuration has the subcells connected in series.

Stacked FET structure for multi-band mobile terminal power amplifier module

2013 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (MTT), 2013
A multi-band PHEMT 5 × 7 mm2 PA module for mobile applications is described based upon a stacked FET structure. The PA has 28.5 dBm linear output power and over 40 % PAE with -38 dBc ACLR for a 3.2 V supply voltage, covering a wide frequency range of 698-915 MHz, 1430-1450 MHz and 1710-1980 MHz.

A multi-band, dual-antenna and antenna interface module system for mobile phones

2007 International workshop on Antenna Technology: Small and Smart Antennas Metamaterials and Applications, 2007
This paper presents details of a self-diplexing dual antenna system and associated antenna interface module. The manufactured demonstrator operates efficiently in 4 GSM bands and 3 UTRA bands with antennas that are just 6 mm high. It is shown that the VSWR can be maintained below approximately 4:1 in all modes no matter how the phone containing the ...
