Retrieval of Ocean Surface Wind Speed Using Reflected BPSK/BOC Signals

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has become a valuable resource as a remote sensing technique. In the past decade, the use of reflected GNSS signals for sensing the Earth, also known as GNSS reflectometry (GNSS-R), has grown rapidly.

Multi-Color Laser Diode Heterodyned 28-GHz Millimeter-Wave Carrier Encoded With DMT for 5G Wireless Mobile Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
By using a multi-color laser diode carrier with orthogonal polarization and single-carrier modulation, the long-reach single-mode fiber (SMF) passive optical network and millimeter-wave wireless access network (WAN) with carrying narrow-band and ...

Zero Guard Band Multi-Twin-SSB System in Single Fiber Bidirectional PON Transmission

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
We propose a novel zero guard band (ZGB) multi-twin-SSB bidirectional passive optical network system which combines the multiband carrier-less amplitude phase and twin single sideband (SSB) modulation techniques. The multi-twin-SSB signal is generated at

Analysis and Simulation about a Simplified Model for Modulation and Demodulation of Ship-borne Single Channel Monopulse Radar

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
A simplified mathematical model for modulation and demodulation of a single channel monopulse (SCM) system is proposed, which is based on a ship-borne pulse radar S-band guided receiver.

Comparison of two solution algorithms of selected harmonics elimination pulse width modulation with multi-band for multi-level inverter

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2014
For lack of research of nonlinear and linear solution algorithms of selected harmonics elimination pulse width modulation used in the same level topology of inverter, a nonlinear solution equation based on homotopy algorithm and a linear solution model ...

A Ku-Band Miniaturized System-in-Package Using HTCC for Radar Transceiver Module Application

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
This paper introduces a miniaturized system in package (SIP) for a Ku-band four-channel RF transceiver front-end. The SIP adopts the packaging scheme of an inner heat-dissipation gasket and multi-layer substrate in the high temperature co-fired ceramics (

Stimulus phase locking of cortical oscillation for auditory stream segregation in rats. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The phase of cortical oscillations contains rich information and is valuable for encoding sound stimuli. Here we hypothesized that oscillatory phase modulation, instead of amplitude modulation, is a neural correlate of auditory streaming.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
