Investigations of Multi-Carrier Pulse Width Modulation Schemes for Diode Free Neutral Point Clamped Multilevel Inverters

open access: yes, 2019
Multilevel Inverters (MLIs) are widely used in medium voltage applications due to their various advantages. In addition, there are numerous types of MLIs for such applications. However, the diode-less 3-level (3L) T-type Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) MLI is the most advantageous due to its low conduction losses and high potential efficiency.

A Simple Carrier-Based Modulation for the SVM of the Matrix Converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Today, industry has not fully embraced the matrix converter solution. One important reason is its high control complexity. It is therefore relevant to propose a simpler but efficient modulation scheme, similar as three phase voltage source inverter ...

FPGA Implementation of a General Space Vector Approach on a 6-Leg Voltage Source Inverter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A general algorithm of a Space Vector approach is implemented on a 6-leg VSI controlling a PM synchronous machine with three independent phases. In this last case, the necessity of controlling the zero-sequence current motivates the choice of a special ...

Common-Mode Voltage Mitigation for Dual Three-Phase Three-Level ANPC Inverters Using Dynamic Phase-Shift PWM

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
In this study, a common-mode voltage (CMV) reduction scheme based on carrier-based pulse-width modulation (PWM) is proposed for asymmetric dual three-phase hybrid active neutral-point-clamped (ADTP-HANPC) inverters.
