Discrete Multi-Dimensional Scaling
In recent years, a number of models of lexical access based on attractor networks have appeared. These models reproduce a number of effects seen in psycholinguistic experiments, but all suffer from unrealistic representations of lexical semantics. In an effort to improve this situation we are looking at techniques developed in the information retrieval

Multi-dimensional Wavelet Frames
Peti & Krishnaprasad [1] first studied the connection between neural networks and wavelet transforms. Zhang & Benveniste [2] gave a different treatment of this connection.

This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Multidimensional Scaling Using Majorization: SMACOF in R
In this paper we present the methodology of multidimensional scaling problems (MDS) solved by means of the majorization algorithm. The objective function to be minimized is known as stress and functions which majorize stress are elaborated. This strategy

Electrified Damage in Motion Systems
The electrified damage in motion systems is a fundamental framework presenting the degradation pathway arising from the coupling of electrical energy transport with mechanical contact and interfacial chemistry. The framework positions electrified damage as a distinct degradation regime with unique characteristic surface morphologies and failures of ...

Multi-scale techniques for multi-dimensional data analysis
Large datasets of geometric data of various nature are becoming more and more available as sensors become cheaper and more widely used. Due to both their size and their noisy nature, special techniques must be employed to deal with them correctly. In order to efficiently handle this amount of data and to tackle the technical challenges they pose, we ...
