Electrostatic actuation is widely employed in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) due to its distinct advantages. However, it requires high voltage, typically provided by a power supply and a high voltage amplifier, which is limited in gain, especially

Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

ADCP, Multi-frequency analysis for flow measurements in rivers [PDF]
Aim of the study Recently, the use of acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP) gains in popularity. Considering the use of various equipment, a question arises whether there are any differences in measuring with ADCP that works at different frequencies.

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Multi-Frequency Polarisation Measurements of PACO Radio Sources
Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) inner regions, poorly characterized so far at frequencies above 20 GHz, can now be studied through their emission and magnetic field properties by means of multi-frequency and multi-epoch polarimetry at centimetric and ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...
