The Influence of the Composition of Pulp and the Number of Layers on the Strength Properties of Multi-Layer Papers Intended for the Production of Corrugated Paperboard

open access: yesBioResources
This research investigated the influence of the layered structure of paper on its selected strength properties. Two types of cellulose pulp were used: unbleached kraft pine pulp (UBSK) and unrefined bleached birch kraft pulp (BHK).

Multi-ply Sheet formation for woodfree paper (Multijet head box), economy and technical feasibility.

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 1994
The equipment which produces three-ply woodfree paper can be installed nowadays by using the established technical methods. This concept is significant only when the printability of outer plies is better than that of inner ply and the cost of material for inner ply is obviously cheaper than that for outer plies.

Modelling the Moisture Content of Multi-Ply Paperboard in the Paper Machine Drying Section

open access: yes, 2006
This thesis presents a grey-box model of the temperature and moisture content for each layer of the multi-ply paperboard inside the drying section of a paper mill. The distribution of the moisture inside the board is an important variable for the board quality, but is unfortunately not measured on-line.
