Shape matching and retrieval via contour multi-scale decomposition

2013 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO), 2013
In this paper, we propose a new shape decomposition method based on visual perception for shape matching and retrieval which uses the protrusive corners under multiple scales. Our approach composes of a multi-scale shape decomposition procedure and a contour segments matching procedure.

Multi-Scale Fusion and Decomposition Network for Single Image Deraining

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing
Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and self-attention (SA) have demonstrated remarkable success in low-level vision tasks, such as image super-resolution, deraining, and dehazing. The former excels in acquiring local connections with translation equivariance, while the latter is better at capturing long-range dependencies.

Improved Modulation Spectrum Through Multi-Scale Modulation Frequency Decomposition

Proceedings. (ICASSP '05). IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005., 2006
The modulation spectrum is a promising method to incorporate dynamic information in pattern classification. It contains important cues about the nonstationary content of a signal and yields complementary improvements when it is combined with conventional features derived from short-term analysis.

Multi-scale graph theoretic image segmentation using wavelet decomposition

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
We present a novel implementation of multi-scale graph-theoretic image segmentation using wavelet decomposition. This bottom-up segmentation through a weighted agglomeration approach utilizes the specific statistical characteristics of vehicles to quickly detect regions of interest in image frames.

Effective Image Fusion Rules Of Multi-scale Image Decomposition

2007 5th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis, 2007
Image fusion rule is the key that influences the quality of image fusion which is a primary branch of multi-sensor information fusion. This paper proposes a fusion rule based on the combination of PCA and consistency checking and applies it to multi-scale image fusion algorithm. The method applies the PCA method to the approximation image decomposed by

Intrinsic Image Decomposition Using Multi‐Scale Measurements and Sparsity

Computer Graphics Forum, 2016
AbstractAutomatic decomposition of intrinsic images, especially for complex real‐world images, is a challenging under‐constrained problem. Thus, we propose a new algorithm that generates and combines multi‐scale properties of chromaticity differences and intensity contrast.

Multi-scale decomposition tool for Content Based Image Retrieval

2013 IEEE Applied Imagery Pattern Recognition Workshop (AIPR), 2013
Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is a technical area focused on answering “Who, What, Where and When,” questions associated with the imagery. A multi-scale feature extraction scheme based on wavelet and Contourlet transforms is proposed to reliably extract objects in images.
