Detecting single-trial EEG evoked potential using a wavelet domain linear mixed model: application to error potentials classification

open access: yes, 2015
Objective. The main goal of this work is to develop a model for multi-sensor signals such as MEG or EEG signals, that accounts for the inter-trial variability, suitable for corresponding binary classification problems. An important constraint is that the

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Assessing the Performance of a Northern Gulf of Mexico Tidal Model Using Satellite Imagery

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2013
Tidal harmonic analysis simulations along with simulations spanning four specific historical time periods in 2003 and 2004 were conducted to test the performance of a northern Gulf of Mexico tidal model.

Multi-Sensors Relocation

open access: yes, 2023
Our research has focused on exploring the integration of FLS and SAS data for target relocation, contributing to the advancement of underwater exploration and survey missions for both industrial and research applications. Through our background research, we identified a gap in the literature concerning the combination of two different sonar modalities ...

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Development of an Underwater Adaptive Penetration System for In Situ Monitoring of Marine Engineering Geology

open access: yesSensors
In recent years, offshore wind farms have frequently encountered engineering geological disasters such as seabed liquefaction and scouring. Consequently, in situ monitoring has become essential for the safe siting, construction, and operation of these ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.
