Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Dynamic Reliability Assessment for Multi-State Degraded Systems

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2013
With the aim of tracking the deteriorating process of a specific individual multi-state system consisting of more than one multi-state component, a dynamic reliability assessment method which can utilize system-level observation history to dynamically ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

A Two-Echelon Supply Chain Inventory Model for Perishable Products with a Shifting Production Rate, Stock-Dependent Demand Rate, and Imperfect Quality Raw Material

open access: yesAppliedMath
This model extends the classical economic production quantity (EPQ) model to address the complexities within a two-echelon supply chain system. The model integrates the cost of raw materials necessary for production and takes into account the presence of

Multi-Model Database Systems: The State of Affairs [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Dunarea de Jos University. Fascicle I : Economics and Applied Informatics, 2020
Nowadays, more and more organizations are coping with a very large volume of data in different formats and a very high growth rate. Under these conditions, relational databases are no longer sufficient for data management within these organizations, as ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Magnetically Guided Microcatheter for Targeted Injection of Magnetic Particle Swarms

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The initial delivery of small‐scale magnetic devices such as microrobots is a key, but often overlooked, aspect for their use in clinical applications. The deployment of these devices within the dynamic environment of the human body presents significant ...

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

HTGTS‐TCR‐Seq for Profiling of Mouse and Human T‐Cell Receptor α and β Gene Rearrangements and Diversity

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Developing αβ T lymphocytes generate T‐cell receptor (TCR) diversity through V(D)J recombination, which assembles Tcra and Tcrb genes from germline variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) segments.
