Multi-attribute Decision-making in Economics of Fire Protection

open access: yesEngineering Economics, 2011
The economic decisions concerning fire safety of built property may involve alternative solutions (alternatives) of fire protection measures, comparison of buildings with different fire safety levels, choice among construction products with different properties of performance in fire.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Linguistic Multi-Attribute Decision Making with a Prioritization Relationship

open access: yesInternational Journal of Knowledge and Systems Science, 2013
In this paper we consider linguistic information aggregation problems where a prioritization relationship exists over attributes. The authors define a prioritized 2-tuple ordered weighted averaging (PTOWA) operator to aggregate satisfactions of alternatives under attributes with a linear prioritized ordering.

On optimal completions of incomplete pairwise comparison matrices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
An important variant of a key problem for multi-attribute decision making is considered. We study the extension of the pairwise comparison matrix to the case when only partial information is available: for some pairs no comparison is given. It is natural

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Multi Attribute Decision Making Approach for the Selection of Urban Wastewater System [PDF]

open access: yesآب و فاضلاب, 2014
Implementation and operation of municipal wastewater collection systems is an essential part of qualitative water resource management. In this paper, the most appropriate alternative among a set of limited of wastewater collection systems was selected ...

Optimization of the nuclear accident emergency rescue plan selection based on a multiple-attribute decision

open access: yesFushe yanjiu yu fushe gongyi xuebao, 2022
An appropriate rescue plan can reduce the consequences and harm of a nuclear accident. Based on the combination of multi-attribute decision-making and cost-benefit analysis, alternative rescue schemes are ranked according to the rescue effect of a ...

Simulation-based evaluation of defuzzification-based approaches to fuzzy multi-attribute decision making [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper presents a simulation-based study to evaluate the performance of 12 defuzzification-based approaches for solving the general fuzzy multiattribute decision-making (MADM) problem requiring cardinal ranking of decision alternatives.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
