Experiences on multiband fractal antennas

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 2001 Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.01CH37229), 2002
This paper presents the development of a multiband fractal antenna based on the Sierpinski triangle. By changing the structure, upper bands may be selected over a number of multiple frequencies. This property is based on Pascal triangle properties. The paper also develops an explanation of why fractal antennas have constant radiation properties at ...

Multiband shorted monopole antenna

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2014
A new type of multiband shark-fin antenna printed on 1.6 mm thick FR4 for automotive applications is presented. The antenna is mounted over a 1 m × 1 m-metal ground plane which represents a car’s roof. The overall size of the antenna is 57 mm × 40 mm × 1.6 mm which is λ/6.5 × λ/9 × λ/231.5 at the lowest frequency of operation of 0.810 GHz.

Chebyshev Multiband Patch Antenna

2012
This paper presents design procedure of a chebyshev multiband microstrip patch antenna. The multibands are achieved by the chebyshevs, introduced on the adjacent and opposite corners of rectangular patch. The bandwidth and frequency shifts are controlled by increasing the distance among the chebyshev from right side and the position of feed is also ...

Fractal and multiband communication antennas

Proceedings of the 16th International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices & IC's, 2004
In this paper we present two novel multiband antenna designs for multiple frequency applications. The first of these, which is based on fractal concepts, is a Sierpinski gasket type of fractal configuration, printed on a dielectric substrate backed by a ground plane.

Multiband Fractal Antennas and Arrays

1997
Antennas and antenna arrays are essentially narrowband devices. Their characteristic size determines their operating wavelength. Fractal structures, having no characteristic size and a multiscale self-similar shape, are suggested for the design of multifrequency antennas and arrays.

A compact multiband terminal antenna

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 2001 Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.01CH37229), 2002
In contemporary terminal antenna technology there is an increasing demand for single fed antennas operating in more than two frequency bands allocated in a broad frequency range (from about 850 MHz up to several GHz). We present an original design of a small sized antenna which is to operate in several frequency bands and to generate multiple linear ...
