Orthogonal multicarrier transmission with modal channel estimation

2009 International Conference on Telecommunications, 2009
A novel multi-carrier orthogonal transmission scheme is presented. While being simpler to implement, it has a spectral efficiency and design parameters similar to those of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing based on Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (OFDM/OQAM). A parametric channel estimation technique is subsequently reported.

Multicarrier transmission schemes in cognitive radio

2012 International Symposium on Signals, Systems, and Electronics (ISSSE), 2012
With the proliferation of radio services in the past decades, most of the spectrum available below 2GHz has been allocated, resulting in the spectrum scarcity problem. However, many studies have revealed that vast portions of the licensed spectra are rarely used.

Adaptive sub-channel equalization in multicarrier transmission

1997 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002
In multicarrier data transmission using filter banks, adaptive equalizers can be introduced in the receiver in every sub-channel, to achieve high bit rates. Following conventional data transmission techniques, two approaches can be envisaged, namely the double sampling equalizer (DSE) and the critical sampling equalizer (CSE).

Multicarrier airborne ultrasound transmission with piezoelectric transducers

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, 2015
In decentralized localization systems, the received signal has to be assigned to the sender. Therefore, longrange airborne ultrasound communication enables the transmission of an identifier of the sender within the ultrasound signal to the receiver.

An efficient technique for merging transmissions in a multicarrier context

2011 Third International Workshop on Cross Layer Design, 2011
A well-known allocation technique, called bit-loading, results in the creation of tone maps which define, for each subcarrier on a particular transmission path, the appropriate constellation that has to be applied based on a link quality criterion. If this technique allows to efficiently optimize point-to-point transmissions in the network, it poses ...

Suppression of multiple interferences for superposed multicarrier transmission

2015 IEEE 26th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2015
Superposed multicarrier transmission is proposed as one of the schemes that improve frequency utilization efficiency. In this scheme some wireless systems share the same spectrum, and interference suppression is necessary. One conventional scheme for the interference suppression applies the EM (Expectation Maximization) algorithm for the estimation of ...

Analysis of multicarrier transmission in time-varying channels

Proceedings of ICC'97 - International Conference on Communications, 2002
Transceiver design is dependent on the a priori information available about the communication environment. We consider two cases: channel completely known at the receiver and transmitter (via feedback); and only channel statistics are known at the transmitter and the channel is known at the receiver.
