Minimization of transmission time for multicarrier CDMA data networks

Optimal assignment of codes with multiple time slots is considered for multicarrier CDMA data networks. Our objective is to minimize the transmission time given the amount of each user's data to be transmitted. A user may experience different performance with different assigned codes in a fading channel.

An application of MIMO techniques to filter bank-based multicarrier modulation is presented. It is shown that the time shift of the offset QAM modulation can be exploited to introduce transmit time diversity and two schemes are described and illustrated. A performance comparison with the conventional Alamouti scheme for QAM is carried out in conclusion.
