A Novel FBMC/QAM Scheme to Eliminate the Error Floor in Multipath Channels

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper proposes a cyclic prefix–based filter bank multicarrier with quadrature amplitude modulation (CP‐FBMC/QAM) scheme to eliminate the error floor and simplify the receiver in multipath fading channels. Moreover, to avoid the increase of out‐of‐band (OOB) radiation caused by the CP insertion, we propose a prototype filter optimization problem ...

Throughput Analysis of Wavelet OFDM in Broadband Power Line Communications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Windowed orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) and wavelet OFDM have been proposed as multicarrier techniques for broadband communications over the power line network by the standard IEEE 1901.

Performance Enhancement of Indoor VLC Systems Using DPSS‐Based DCO‐GFDM Modulation

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
VLC is a promising solution for future wireless communication systems due to its high data rate, wide bandwidth, and enhanced security features. However, challenges such as high PAPR and OOB spectral leakage limit its performance. In this study, we propose the integration of DPSS with DCO‐GFDM to enhance the performance of indoor VLC systems.

Reducing the Peak to Average Power Ratio of UFMC Waveform for Beyond 5G System Using Hybrid SLM+PTS+RNN Algorithms

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This article proposes a hybrid SLM+PTS+RNN algorithm to mitigate the high PAPR challenge in UFMC systems for B5G networks. The method significantly improves power efficiency (by 30%–40%) while maintaining BER and PSD performance, outperforming traditional PAPR reduction techniques.

Revised Dingo Optimization Algorithm for Frequency Offset Design in FDA‐MIMO Radar

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
Our study explores the issues of grating lobes and parameters coupling between angle and range dimensions caused by the traditional frequency diverse array (FDA) with linear frequency offsets. We have proposed a revised dingo optimization algorithm with a Kaiser window function (RDOAK) algorithm based on FDA multiple‐input multiple‐output (FDA‐MIMO ...

A Hybrid Single-Carrier/Multicarrier Transmission Scheme with Power Allocation

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2007
We propose a flexible transmission scheme which easily allows to switch between cyclic-prefixed single-carrier (CP-SC) and cyclic-prefixed multicarrier (CP-MC) transmissions. This scheme takes advantage of the best characteristic of each scheme, namely,

Multicarrier Transmission Optimization in Elastic Optical Networks

open access: yes2024 24th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON)
This study investigates the trade-off between Quality of Transmission (QoT) performance and spectrum efficiency through low-margin operation of multicarriers. Margin reduction is enabled by implementing tight filtering and slight subcarriers overlap. Experiments conducted on a Software Defined Networking (SDN)-controlled Elastic Optical Network (EON ...

Multicarrier transmission in a mobile radio channel

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1996
A multicarrier modulation system designed for communication in a multipath, mobile radio channel is described. The effect of introducing channel coding is investigated and the improvement in BER performance is shown. A comparison is made between the modulation schemes of DPSK and DQPSK.
