Accelerating Surface Composition Characterization of Thin‐Film Materials Libraries Using Multi‐Output Gaussian Process Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
To integrate surface analysis into materials discovery workflows, Gaussian process regression is used to accurately predict surface compositions from rapidly acquired volume composition data (obtained by energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy), drastically reducing the number of required surface measurements on thin‐film materials libraries.

Two problems in multidimensional prediction theory.

open access: yesMichigan Mathematical Journal, 1992
Given a positive Borel measure \(\mu\) on the \(n\)-dimensional torus \(T^ n\) and a vector \(x_ 0\in{\mathbf R}^ n\) such that the set \(\{k\in{\mathbf Z}^ n, \langle x_ 0,k\rangle=0\}\neq\{0\}\), the problem of finding an explicit expression in terms of \(\mu\) for the quantity \(\inf_ P\int_{T^ n}| 1+P(\theta)|^ 2d\mu(\theta)\), is considered. Here,

Deep Learning‐Assisted Coherent Raman Scattering Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The analytical capabilities of coherent Raman scattering microscopy are augmented through deep learning integration. This synergistic paradigm improves fundamental performance via denoising, deconvolution, and hyperspectral unmixing. Concurrently, it enhances downstream image analysis including subcellular localization, virtual staining, and clinical ...

Large Language Model in Materials Science: Roles, Challenges, and Strategic Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Large language models (LLMs) are reshaping materials science. Acting as Oracle, Surrogate, Quant, and Arbiter, they now extract knowledge, predict properties, gauge risk, and steer decisions within a traceable loop. Overcoming data heterogeneity, hallucinations, and poor interpretability demands domain‐adapted models, cross‐modal data standards, and ...

Multidimensional two-phase quasistationary stefan problem

open access: yesManuscripta Mathematica, 1993
An analysis is being made of a two-dimensional quasi-stationary Stefan problem which is considered as a model problem for the process of crystallization of an infnite ingot moving with a constant velocity with respect to a stationary heat source.
