Expression of multidrug-resistance associated proteins in human retinoblastoma treated by primary enucleation [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ophthalmology, 2018
AIM: To reveal the expression of multidrug-resistance associated proteins: glutathione-S-transferase π (GSTπ), P-glycoprotein (P-gp) and vault protein lung resistance protein (LRP) in retinoblastoma (RB) without any conservative treatment before primary ...

Characterization of newly isolated lytic bacteriophages active against Acinetobacter baumannii [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Based on genotyping and host range, two newly isolated lytic bacteriophages, myovirus vB_AbaM_Acibel004 and podovirus vB_AbaP_Acibel007, active against Acinetobacter baumannii clinical strains, were selected from a new phage library for further ...

Expression of multidrug resistance proteins in retinoblastoma [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ophthalmology, 2017
AIM: To elucidate the mechanism of multidrug resistance in retinoblastoma, and to acquire more insights into in vivo drug resistance. METHODS: Three anticancer drug resistant Y79 human RB cells were generated against vincristine, etoposide or ...

Folium Sennae Increased the Bioavailability of Methotrexate through Modulation on MRP 2 and BCRP

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2021
Folium Sennae (FS), a popular laxative (Senna), contains polyphenolic anthranoids, whose conjugation metabolites are probable modulators of multidrug resistance-associated proteins (MRPs) and breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP). We suspected that the

Multidrug resistance associated proteins in multidrug resistance [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Journal of Cancer, 2012
Multidrug resistance proteins (MRPs) are members of the C family of a group of proteins named ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. These ABC transporters together form the largest branch of proteins within the human body. The MRP family comprises of 13 members, of which MRP1 to MRP9 are the major transporters indicated to cause multidrug resistance

HPLC-MS identification and expression of Candida drug-resistance proteins from African HIV-infected patients

open access: yesAIMS Microbiology, 2021
The objective of this study was to elucidate the proteomic mechanisms of drug resistance in HIV-infected African patients. Cell membrane fractions from forty oral Candida isolates isolated from African HIV-positive patients were analysed using HPLC-MS ...

Metaproteomic Analysis of Gut Resistome in the Cecal Microbiota of Fattening Pigs Raised without Antibiotics

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Improper use of antibiotics in swine could reduce commensal bacteria and possibly increase pathogen infections via the gut resistome. This study aimed to compare the metaproteomic profiles of the gut resistome and related metabolism in the cecal ...

Colistin Resistance Mechanisms in Human and Veterinary Klebsiella pneumoniae Isolates

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2022
Colistin (polymyxin E) is increasingly used as a last-resort antibiotic for the treatment of severe infections with multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria.

Correlations of mRNA Levels among Efflux Transporters, Transcriptional Regulators, and Scaffold Proteins in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, 2021
Multidrug resistance (MDR) due to enhanced drug efflux activity of tumor cells can severely impact the efficacy of antitumor therapies. We recently showed that increased activity of the efflux transporter P-glycoprotein (P-gp) associated with activation ...

Multidrug resistance-associated proteins 3, 4, and 5 [PDF]

open access: yesPflügers Archiv - European Journal of Physiology, 2006
We summarize in this paper the recently published results on multidrug resistance-associated proteins 3, 4, and 5 (MRPs 3-5). MRP3 can transport organic compounds conjugated to glutathione, sulfate, or glucuronate, such as estradiol-17beta-glucuronide, bilirubin-glucuronides, and etoposide-glucuronide, and also bile salts and methotrexate.
