Multifactorial Inheritance: A Possible Hypothesis for Diabetes
Diabetes, 1964Family data for 2,645 probands from a Canadian Register have been genetically analyzed. Study of 173 children from matings in which the diabetic is married to a diabetic, and of 13,009 first degree relatives of diabetics, suggests that the hereditary basis for diabetes is multifactorial.

Multifactorial inheritance of abdominal aortic aneurysm
European Journal of Vascular Surgery, 1987The possible genetic predisposition to abdominal aortic aneurysm was investigated by recording the family history from 60 consecutive patients presenting for aneurysm repair. Twenty patients, age 63.2 +/- 9.3 years, had at least one first degree relative with abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Prevention of Inherited Multifactorial Diseases
