Multigene analysis of lophophorate and chaetognath phylogenetic relationships

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2008
Maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference analyses of seven concatenated fragments of nuclear-encoded housekeeping genes indicate that Lophotrochozoa is monophyletic, i.e., the lophophorate groups Bryozoa, Brachiopoda and Phoronida are more closely related to molluscs and annelids than to Deuterostomia or Ecdysozoa.

Evolutionary relationships of Metchnikovella dogieli Paskerova et al., 2016 (Microsporidia: Metchnikovellidae) revealed by multigene phylogenetic analysis

Parasitology Research, 2021
The species Metchnikovella dogieli (Paskerova et al. Protistology 10:148-157, 2016) belongs to one of the early diverging microsporidian groups, the metchnikovellids (Microsporidia: Metchnikovellidae). In relation to typical ('core') microsporidia, this group is considered primitive.

Multigene phylogenetic analysis of Lygodactylus dwarf geckos (Squamata: Gekkonidae)

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2010
The genus Lygodactylus is a group of small, diurnal geckos distributed mainly in Africa and Madagascar. A closely related, monotypic genus is Microscalabotes from Madagascar. We examined fragments of two moderate- to slow-evolving nuclear genes (RAG-1, RAG-2) and of two fast-evolving mitochondrial genes (16SrRNA, cytochrome b) to estimate phylogenetic ...

Phylogenetic Analysis of Vertebrate Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) Multigene Families

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 2002
In this paper we analyzed 49 lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) sequences, mostly from vertebrates. The amino acid sequence differences were found to be larger for a human-killifish pair than a human-lamprey pair. This indicates that some protein sequence convergence may occur and reduce the sequence differences in distantly related species.

Cloning, expression and phylogenetic analysis of a divergent laccase multigene family in Auricularia auricula-judae

open access: closedMicrobiological Research, 2013
Laccases (p-diphenol: oxygen oxidoreductase; EC 1.10.3.2) are multi-copper oxidases encoded by gene family in white rot fungi. Auricularia auricula-judae is one kind of white rot fungi with a soft, jelly-like texture and an ear-like shape. In the present study, seven laccase genes containing the signature sequences L1-L4 were isolated from A.

Multigene phylogenetic analysis detects cryptic species ofTryblidiopsisin China

Mycologia, 2014
Tryblidiopsis pinastri (Rhytismatales) has been recognized as being distributed throughout northern temperate regions. In the present study, comparative studies showed that species of Tryblidiopsis from China were distinct from the European type species. They are shown to belong to two new Tryblidiopsis species, T sichuanensis and T.

The actin multigene family in Populus: organization, expression and phylogenetic analysis

Molecular Genetics and Genomics, 2010
Despite the significance of actin in plant growth and development, little is known of the structure, expression and evolution of the actin gene family in woody plants. In this study, we systematically examined the diversification of the actin gene family in Populus by integrating genomic organization, expression, and phylogeny data.

Phylogenetic framework of the systematically confused Anteholosticha–Holosticha complex (Ciliophora, Hypotrichia) based on multigene analysis

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2015
The Anteholosticha-Holosticha complex is an extremely divergent group within the urostylids, especially because the genus characterization lacks suitable synapomorphies. Previous studies have shown that morphological classification of species within this group often conflicts with SSU-rDNA data, that is this complex is not recovered as a monophyletic ...

Multigene phylogenetic analysis of inter- and intraspecific relationships in Venturia nashicola and V. pirina

European Journal of Plant Pathology, 2011
Isolates of Venturia species isolated from pear in Japan, China, Taiwan and Israel were used in this study to analyze their molecular phylogenetic relationship. The nucleotides of rDNA-ITS, partial β-tubulin and elongation factor 1α genes were sequenced directly after PCR.
