Amperometric cytochrome c3-based biosensor for chromate determination [PDF]
International audienceThe chromate reductase activity of cytochrome c3 (Cyt c3, Mr 13 000), isolated from the sulfate-reducing bacterium Desulfomicrobium norvegicum, was used to develop an amperometric biosensor to measure chromate (CrO42 ...

Shewanella spp. genomic evolution for a cold marine lifestyle and in-situ explosive biodegradation. [PDF]
Shewanella halifaxensis and Shewanella sediminis were among a few aquatic gamma-proteobacteria that were psychrophiles and the first anaerobic bacteria that degraded hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX). Although many mesophilic or psychrophilic

The relay network of Geobacter biofilms [PDF]
While actual models explaining electron conduction in electricity producing biofilms have evolved separately to apparent irreconcilable conceptual positions, finding cytochrome complexes in the external matrix of Geobacter biofilms supports the proposal ...

A Simple, Rapid, and Highly Efficient Gene Expression System for Multiheme Cytochromes c [PDF]
The genes of tetraheme cytochrome c3 and hexadecaheme high-molecular-weight cytochrome c from Desulfovibrio vulgaris could be overexpressed as holoproteins in Shewanella oneidensis TSP-C using pUC-type vectors of E. coli. Surprisingly, S. oneidensis was transformed directly by pUC-type vectors through electroporation.
