Irreversible multilayer adsorption [PDF]

open access: yesBerichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1993
AbstractRandom sequential adsorption (RSA) models have been studied [1] due to their relevance to deposition processes on surfaces. The depositing particles are represented by hard‐core extended objects; they are not allowed to overlap. Numerical Monte Carlo studies and analytical considerations are reported for 1D and 2D models of multilayer ...

Formation of Polyelectrolyte Multilayers

open access: yes, 2000
International audienceA mechanism for the formation of polyelectrolyte multilayers is proposed. All of the experiments on such systems show that there is strong interpenetration of consecutive layers.

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Microstructural modification in Co/Cu multilayers prepared by low energy ion-assisted deposition

open access: yes, 1998
The microstructure of Co/Cu multilayers deposited by low energy ion-assisted deposition was investigated. The samples studied were grown by unbalanced magnetron sputtering with and without an applied d.c. substrate bias of −50 V.

Ordered polyelectrolyte multilayers. Rules governing layering in organic binary multilayers.

open access: yes, 2003
We study the growth and internal structure of polyelectrolyte multilayers obtained by combining three polyanions with nine polycations of the ionene family, of systematically varied chemical architecture. We find that, contrary to a generally held belief,

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Hiding in Multilayer Networks

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2020
Multilayer networks allow for modeling complex relationships, where individuals are embedded in multiple social networks at the same time. Given the ubiquity of such relationships, these networks have been increasingly gaining attention in the literature.

Biodegradation-resistant multilayers coated with gold nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2022
S.24345-24349Polymer multicomponent coatings such as multilayers mimic an extracellular matrix (ECM) that attracts significant attention for the use of the multilayers as functional supports for advanced cell culture and tissue engineering.

Memristor‐Driven Active‐Matrix Organic Light‐Emitting Diode for Energy Efficient and High‐Resolution Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that memristors can replace conventional 2T–1C driving circuits with simplified 1T–1 m architectures by exploiting resistance switching. With ultra‐low switching voltages (< ±0.2 V) and multi‐level resistance states, the memristors precisely control the current injected into organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Diffusion in Metallic Multilayers

open access: yes, 1995
The use of metallic multilayers for diffusion measurements is reviewed. Experiments on epitaxial Ag/Au multilayers show that microstructural evolution can affect the measurements, but that nonetheless accurate determinations of lattice interdiffusivity ...
