Characterization of the Central Sulcus Pli‐De‐Passage Fronto‐Pariétal Moyen in > 1000 Human Brains

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 2, February 1, 2026.
The pli‐de‐passage fronto‐pariétal moyen (PPfpm), a deep fold within the central sulcus (CS), was characterized in 2165 MRI‐derived CS depth profiles. Realignment to their deepest points enabled automated PPfpm extraction at its height (PPfpm‐I) and lateral end (PPfpm‐II).

Multi‐scale geophysical mapping of the brine and bedrock surfaces along the Dolores River, Paradox Valley, Colorado, December 2023

open access: yesNear Surface Geophysics, Volume 24, Issue 1, Page 36-49, February 2026.
Abstract Total dissolved solids derived from salt dome–sourced brine in the underlying alluvial aquifer substantially increase with distance in the reach of the Dolores River that passes through Paradox Valley in southwestern Colorado. The area has been the site of salinity control operations since the 1990s to reduce salt loading to the downstream ...

In Vivo Chemical Reprogramming Is Associated With a Toxic Accumulation of Lipid Droplets Hindering Rejuvenation

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 2, February 2026.
Partial chemical reprogramming significantly increases mitochondrial interaction networks, affects mitochondrial morphology, speeds up mitochondrial movement dynamics, increases mitochondrial transmembrane potential, and induces TCA cycle stress. These changes in mitochondrial function contribute to lipid droplet accumulation, acute kidney injury, and ...

Impact of loneliness on health in healthy populations: A meta‐analysis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Health Psychology, Volume 31, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Objectives Previous meta‐analyses have shown that loneliness is associated with poor health (r = −.35) and sleep challenges (r = .29). However, that work is confounded by the inclusion of unhealthy populations, with chronic conditions, such as HIV, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, and severe mental illness.

Brain lesion extent, growth, and body composition in children with cerebral palsy

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 68, Issue 2, Page 199-210, February 2026.
Abstract Aim To investigate the relationship between growth, body composition, and the extent of brain lesion measured using structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Method This prospective population‐based cohort study recorded 359 assessments from 124 children with CP aged 18 months to 13 years (38% female ...
